morally grey/evil scientist characters are always like biochemical engineers or nuclear physicists or whatever but the people want VARIETY give me a story about a fucked up geologist for once
Getting a bit sick of all the “ooh I’m so glad Laios has a soft body!” “Laios is built like an average guy” style posts. Because he doesn’t and isn’t.
Laios is built like a fucking professional wrestler. He isn’t like, super chiseled or anything but he does not have an “average” body, he his built like someone who does a LOT of physical effort and training.
I think the point is that he’s also built like someone who isn’t dehydrating himself to the point of collapse and starving off every ounce of body fat
Y’know, the kind of body an average person could achieve with physical effort and training like wearing heavy plate armour every day and a very physically demanding job
Like farm or factory workers, miners, sailors, and every other job that involves lifting and moving heavy shit all day
His muscles aren’t overinflated beyond the point of realism, or defined and gouged out of him, and sure, some wrestlers have a similar body type but so do a lot of people who aren’t shirtless for perusal every day
Laios’ body isn’t unattainable, and the fact that it’s so heavily praised for that is a scathing indictment of the body types people are used to seeing in media
My ideal aesthetic is what I’m calling “sexy tomboy”. That is to say, I am 100% femme through and through, but I want to look like what a straight man’s idea of a “masculine woman” is. I wanna be masc in the way that LaCroix is fruit flavored, just a little extra something to make things a little more interesting
What’s really killing me is the storyline here. One of the friends is delighted to absolutely eviscerate him, whereas the other one looks pained. And there is a subtle overlay of Thanos’ line, “I’m sorry, Little One.”
While one member of the game revels in the destruction of his opponent, the other regrets it. But only for a moment. Just as quickly, he begins to smile. Was the regret mocking? Or did his mask slip…. What is their history? What are their bonds? And why is one of them so gleeful to sever them? What brought them to this moment…
I’ve managed people for many, many years. And one of the first speeches I always give to a new group is that “the punishment must fit the crime”. If you embarass somebody in front of a group of people (especially someone you outrank, who can’t respond in kind), you must apologize IN FRONT OF THE SAME PEOPLE, or as close as you can get. Publically. Not “in your office with the door closed”. To do anything else is the Way of the Weasel.
